Rainbow Brite, Mermaids and Christmas

We had a most lovely and luscious chocolate-filled day yesterday... the best Christmas in a long time.

One of our traditions (cheap & fun) is that we make it snow inside. My love made the most awesome snowflakes to hang, and we always spread the cuttings all over the floor. It's magical.

For our presents, we wrapped them in newspaper, white yarn, and these AMAZING tags made by The Black Apple, that I had printed on cardstock and cut out: It was great fun!

My parents sent the most amazing Mongolian things for each of us!
For the Hubby: Some wool slippers with a camel applique (made by taking the wool from their sheep, spreading it out, tamping it down and covering with water multiple times, then rolling up in big sheets. They then cut it to size and make all sorts of things out of it!)

For me: A beautiful purse made from Kazakhstan.

For Kaleid: A lovely light purple hat

For Hazel: These AMAZING boots
that I WISH they made in adult sizes... she was wearing her Rainbow Brite outfit, and they were AWESOME!! She also got a rainbow brite and Snow White (THANK YOU D.I.!) that I sharpied/doctored the face of, it was just too boring.

I didn't get my dolls done, but they're in the works, and I'll post pictures soon. I'm happy with how they're turning out, though they're different than I planned.

We got tons of other wonderful things.... and feel like we've got SO MUCH to be grateful for. It's amazing... we feel very loved.

Today I've been in a very strange, lovely, moss-covered mood... so, I decided it's a very mermaid day. I'm listening to Pandora, the radio station I created was of Mariee Sioux... maybe as close as I can get to the mood I feel. And here are some pictures I found that I liked to go along with the mood:

I also knew that if I posted about not having finished my stripes, that would give me the kick I needed to finish them. So, they're finished!
